Recently

Yep It has been a long old while since I last posted here though this is quite telling of the last couple of months of my life! So Since my last post I arrived back in rainy England, went to Newday - a national youth event run by Newfrontiers, visited the Netherlands, applied to and began my degree at Redcliffe college studying Applied theology in cross cultural contexts.

It has been a forest of new experiences, sharp learning curves, ups, downs and lots of busyness throughout, until now that is. I am now beginning to settle into my new home. It is quite telling that I am not settled in a place if I haven't found the time to get my camera out. Well as a point of settling in I went for a walk this week and the camera came with - and now you can join for the highlights of the journey.

Josh & Sarah

My immediate older brother Josh married my now sister in law Sarah. These photos are largely our holiday which was fused into the wedding preparations/ celebrations and I was occupied as a grooms-man for the entirety of the actual day but I was the only and therefore official  photographer of the legal wedding which took place in the Guadalupe river- literally. So here we have a taste of Texas, the stag do, the rehearsal dinner and the legal wedding :

 

 It may not look like much, but this is was the legal wedding taking place in the Guadalupe, followed by a celebratory dance:

Beauty in the mundane

In previous posts when rambling on about what I like to take pictures of I mentioned fractals. They are impressive things and can be found everywhere. A fractal in laymens' terms is a self repeating pattern within a self repeating pattern. Ferns are a classic example of this and are often used when defining fractals as it is easy to see the repeat.

Just outside the house I have been staying in the last 2 weeks on the Guadalupe river is a very significant spring to the Littlestars and now my brother as well. He proposed beside it, it feeds the river that they dated on and they were legally married right next to it. On that spring ferns grow which is a big deal in Texas as nowhere else is their enough water to keep those beauties alive. This is the reason I took these photos.
